/ 02The brief

Marella sought an interior that would feel like an heirloom — lived-in, sun-bleached, and quietly extravagant. We restored the original frescoes, hand-stenciled the corridors, and commissioned bespoke rattan pieces from a Capri workshop.

/ 03The response

A 14-suite boutique hotel carved from a 19th-century palazzo, where every surface reflects the sea.

The design centres on a quiet procession of rooms, each with its own material vocabulary — patinated brass and lime plaster in the entrance; deep emerald and oak in the library; calacatta viola marble and hand-loomed linen in the dining room. We worked closely with the client over eighteen months, and with a team of craftspeople drawn from our long-standing network of workshops.
