/ 02The brief

The owners — a gallerist and a composer — wanted a home that could showcase their collection, host concerts, and raise two children. The result is a sequence of warm, gallery-like rooms organized around a central lightwell filled with greenery.

/ 03The response

A Brooklyn brownstone reshaped into a light-filled family home centered on a triple-height garden room.

The design centres on a quiet procession of rooms, each with its own material vocabulary — patinated brass and lime plaster in the entrance; deep emerald and oak in the library; calacatta viola marble and hand-loomed linen in the dining room. We worked closely with the client over eighteen months, and with a team of craftspeople drawn from our long-standing network of workshops.
